HDS Studios, Hayes, (within M25 between M4 and A40)

HDS Studios is vacant and available for hire. It is a former TV studio site and can be hired as a set build facility or as a productuion base exclusively through Janie Richardson at The Collective.

HDS Studios boasts:

• 4 large sound studios (24ft height clearance)
• 3 smaller broadcasting studios
• Abundance of production office space
• Equipment storage
• Workshop areas
• Dressing rooms
• On-site unit parking (90 bays)

Situated in Hayes Middlesex, less than 5 miles from Heathrow (but without the flight path noise) HDS Studios can cater for most scales of production with the flexibility of both expansive set-build studios.

NOTE OF CAUTION [1]: Currently Stage 3, one smaller broadcast stage and a small amount of office space is taken until mid August which still leaves 3 large sound stages, most of the storage and workshop spaces and an abundance of office space available.

From mid-August 2010 the entire site can be hired exclusively. There are no fixed plans about its future so get in touch to tell us what you want.

NOTE OF CAUTION 2: This studio was decommissioned and is owned by a property developer. The only staff on site is one security guard protecting the site for the owner. The power supply is vast and has worked for a number of previous productions but would need to warranted by the production.

HDS Studios is a cost-effective alternative to a faciliated studio. You will save vast amounts in hire fees but will not have the creature comforts of Pinewood / Shepperton / Ealing for example.
 

HDS Studios has four large sound stages all with 24ft height clearance:

Studio 1 - 6,210sqft (69ft x 90ft) - £2,500 per week

Studio 2 - 5,796sqft (84ft x 69ft) - £2,500 per week

Studio 3 - 8,400sqft (105ft x 92ft) - £3,500 per week

Studio 6 - 8,514sqft (66ft x 129ft) - £3,500 per week

 TOTAL - 28,900SQFT

Smaller studios at HDS which can be used for workshops and storage are:

Studio 4a - 1,291sqft - £600 per week

Studio 4b - 1,300sqft - £600 per week

Studio 4c - 1,700sqft - £750 per week

Plus there is an additional space next to Studio 6 which has had a variety of uses in the past for example a vast costume and props store as well as huge workshop:

Warehouse 5 - 7,000sqft (approx) - £1,750 per week

There is a wealth of production office space divided into three demarked and controllable areas within the site:

Main Building: Ground floor - over 9,000sqft

Main Building: First floor - over 10,000sqft

Stage 5: First floor - 2,875sqft

Additional office space around the site - 7,500sqft

TOTAL: 28,500sqft +

Other areas to note at HDS Studios are:

The old canteen which does not have any catering facilities but is a space that can be used as a dining area.

There are many spaces that can be used as dressing rooms and most have a mirror with some chairs. The rooms vary in size with the largest being on the ground floor of the main building.

There is parking on site for 90 cars but with an experienced unit manager you should be able to accomodate two large units on-site at any one time.

Fees and availability for HDS:

Weekly hire fees for the stages range between £2,500 and £3,500 depending on size.

A standard office space is roughly £1,000 per week.
