Deer Oak Place

Filming at Deer Oak Place, a bright, quirky filming and photography location

Nestled in picturesque parkland, Deer Oak Place is an impressive, rambling Victorian manor house with a rich cultural and literary heritage. Built in 1867 in the Italianate style by Edmund Potter, grandfather of Beatrix Potter, the house underwent later additions by Lord and Lady Queenborough, including an external wooden panelled portico.

The interiors of Deer Oak Place are nothing short of spectacular. Dame Barbara Cartland’s unique and quirky romantic style is evident in every room of the house. The rooms are adorned with bright and bold colours, ornate furnishings, and intricate details. From the opulent drawing room with its striking colour palette and gilded mirrors, to the cosy library with its built-in bookshelves and plush velvet armchairs, each space exudes a sense of grandeur and intimacy.

Deer Oak Place is also a popular destination for film and TV productions, with its unique and visually striking interiors making it a perfect setting for photoshoots and filming. The house has been used as a filming location for Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway (the Bigwig Manor segment), an Elle cover shoot, and the music video for Wizkid’s “Sugar” to name a few.

The vast, manicured grounds, unspoilt parkland, lakes and ancient forests are an ideal backdrop for editorial photography shoots and luxury advertising campaigns.
