Location of the month, February 2012: Central St Martins

As we wave a friendly but firm farewell to January, we welcome an exciting beginning to the month of love. And coincidently, we are offering the object of any location managers' affection - our new exclusive location Central St Martins

The newest addition to the ever-expanding Collective exclusive location portfolio is as diverse, vast, and eclectic as its history. The old Central St Martins College campus houses a wealth of spaces from the beautiful munipical to the gritty industrial, with plenty more in between.

With its iconic 19th century Lethaby Building, eight storey 1970's vacant office block, industrial parking lot, empty vacant theatre, warrens of basement corridors, old jewellery workshops, and treble height halls, Central St Martins is a place to get creative with your location needs.

The Lethaby Building

The iconic Lethaby Building was built in 1908 for the sole purpose of pursuing the creative arts. Now its sole purpose is to offer only the best filming spaces all on one site - worn wooden bannisters; spiral staircases; vaulted ceilings; mosaic flooring; flecked stone columns - each floor and space offers you something unique. Recreate a hospital, university, a prison, stately homes, grand hotels, workshops, galleries, dance studios, maybe even a European government building. There are also double and treble height halls offering set build space.

Vacant office block with a dash of urban grit

An eight storey vacant office block with dramatic city views from the roof top, large open floors, 1970’s institutional staircases, a canteen and library. There is also the possibility of window-to-window shots across the large enclosed courtyard, with underground parking and external metal staircases. This entire area is fully controllable with parking for a small unit base!

Corridors and Staircases

We all have a soft spot for a good corridor, and Central St Martin's has them in abundance! See below for a selection of the best corridors and staircases the site has to offer.

Curtain call in the large vacant theatre

And for our grand finale, we present to you a large vacant theatre, complete with its very own backstage area, bar, and direct access from the rest of the Central St Martins campus. With a slightly more modern feel than the rest of the building, this theatre space emphasises just how versatile the site is as a whole.

Get in touch...

With such a fantastic array of spaces, Central St Martins could really work at the centre of a production. With a huge array of filming options, the unique aspect of such a diverse building is its Central London location. Just a few minutes from Holborn tube station, the building is very easily accessible yet still holds a wealth of space to explore.
