Oriental City – an apocalyptic ‘28 Days Later’ shopping centre

Isolated just off the Edgware Road (A5) in Colindale is this eerily desolate, ominous and derelict shopping centre. A distressed location with a gritty urban look and unnerving feel this centre has a great main concourse, various sized retail units, escalators, a MASSIVE multi-storey car park, a variety of food courts, function rooms and bizarrely – the remains of a bowling alley.

This is a versatile worn-down blank canvas with great aesthetic appeal but with NO POWER OR WATER!!!

The Shopping Centre

The centre comprises a collection of intriguing areas and spaces. Led by the large uninhabited food court with its floor to ceiling glass frontage and generous eaves height, there is also a collection of deserted food markets, empty decaying mall areas, variously sized shops all with neglected interiors, function rooms, a bar and of course that bowling alley.

Vast Multi-Storey Car Park...

Orbiting the remains of this shopping centre is an extensive three storey car park, with an uninterrupted top floor level this makes for a great filmable space with 360 degree views.

Exteriors & Parking

Complimenting the desolate atmosphere of this location is its hard industrial façade. The overall abandoned appearance of its rear yard and external spaces combined with the ample surface area for parking with no height, width or turning restrictions ensures this site can accommodate all sizes of production.
