We’re extremely excited to introduce Paynes & Borthwick Wharf, perched on an ominous and brooding stretch of Deptford riverside, a dramatic and incredibly textured location, with widescreen cityscapes and, along one side, an imposing row of crumbling, listed, powerstation-proportioned arches; this is a set waiting for a script. With tremendous potential for filming, photographic and events productions alike, PB Wharf can accommodate tech vehicles on site and offers basic portakabin offices, changing and wardrobe space. Power and water are both available on site.

The Coldstore

A crumbling industrial Greek amphitheatre (hey, why not?), bordered on three sides by steel-supported, listed facades belonging to the mighty coldstore warehouse that once stood here, it’s the epitomy of what some location agencies even more pretentious than us like to refer as “urban grit”. Punctuated with gravelly scrub, shabby construction lean-tos and tangles of corroded foundation cable, this place is dressed and ready to go for stunts and explosions, for climactic showdown scenes, underworld rendezvous, Canary Wharf backdrops, for a special brand launch, memorable screening event, music or parkour promo, major ident – whatever the project, this is a location that really adds production value.

Naked Concrete

What makes this location particularly intriguing (seriously) is the juxtaposition of the former warehouse and the embryonic concrete development slowly taking form on the other half of the site. Contrasting but complimentary materials, angles and space give PB Wharf a unique richness and depth.
