The 1930s orginal council chamber is in excellent condition, with clock tower, flagpole and balcony features on the exterior and 40+ parking spaces directly in front of the building.  The 1st floor hexagonal chamber is well lit with windows above, running around the circumference of the room and interesting suspended glass light fittings still in place.  On both floors long, bright corridors run along the front of the building, with various office/reception rooms to the centre and rear.  The basement area features council archive vaults, shelving racks and heavy security door.

Like the new office building that it links the original building with, the central section is a late 80s construction.  It houses a entrance area with fitted enquiries desks and counters, which could double as a reception area for a library, bank, police or hospital.  Adjacent to these are security glass partitioned cash desks and interview rooms, which again could work as bank, police station or prison locations.

The four storey office building at the rear of the site comprises 45,000 sqft of office space, a mixture of partitioned offices and larger, open-plan areas. The staff canteen and fully fitted commercial kitchen are in superb condition. There is a steel fire escape staircase the rear of the building and close to 200 car parking spaces.
